The GWM WEY 03 combines an internal combustion engine with a pair of electric motors. One of them is located at the front and is connected to the internal combustion engine’s transmission via a clutch. Meanwhile, the rear electric motor is located on the rear axle, directly driving the rear wheels. This arrangement not only enables all-wheel drive functionality, but also facilitates regenerative braking and electric-only driving modes. A 9-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, using two clutches, ensures smooth transitions between gears.
